Hurricane "Sandy" is expected to severely effect this area from Monday, Oct. 29  thru  Wednesday Oct. 31. The following conditions are anticipated:

* Severe beach erosion
* Flooding to low lying areas
* Hurricane force winds (+60mph)

"Trick Or Treat" will remain Wednesday 10/31 evening, 5:30pm - 7:30pm.
EVACUATION STATUS:
All available information indicates that the storm will have a major impact on our area with the potential for unprecedented levels of beach erosion, flooding and wide spread power outages due to hurricane force winds.

Given the potential severity of these impacts for Plum Island and other low lying areas, the Newbury Emergency Management Director is issuing a VOLUNTARY evacuation for these areas.

There was a water-main break at Old Point and Plum Island Blvd. intersection this morning. The repair has been made and service is expect to be restored by 08:00am
Scattered power outages are still effecting areas of Byfield and Olde Town. At this time, there is no estimate for the return of service.
